IF I COULD USE MY WORDS - A POEM BY DONOVAN BALDWIN
If I could use my words
I would use them to:
Tease you, tantalize you, tempt you,
Cajole, caress, and comfort you.
Take you, wrapped in love's embrace
To the heights of ecstasy,
And further still...
Until...
Gasping with the pleasure of the ride,
You collapsed with me once more,
Upon the breast of Earth.
I would use my words to:
Bring you to your knees,
Pledging undying love,
And a willingness to
Do my bidding in all ways
So that I could have the joy
Of freeing you from that pledge.
If I could use my words so well,
I would use them
To make you speak the truth
About the deepest secrets and desires
Within your heart.
And, with my words, I would assure
That you never doubted
Your secrets would be kept.
But, never could I use my words
To hurt, harm, or disrespect
The pure, sweet soul
Within your breast.

DAWN'S FINGERS TOUCHING, AND OTHER MICROPOETRY BY DONOVAN BALDWIN
dawn's fingers touching
with warm anticipation...
her blossom unfolds
-----
where are all my words
to describe the pain inside...
i must free myself
-----
lets her secrets go
all the pain she's held inside...
and carried alone
-----
love's warm wine flows
lip to lip we share a toast...
drinking her desires
-----
a lantern of hope
burning with dreams and desires...
keeps the dark at bay
-----
his lady on fire
what's a gentleman to do...
but help fan her flames
----
bird leaps from her nest
kept aloft on pleasure's wings...
not willing to land
=====
in his midnight dreams
she becomes a poet's wish...
wearing his best words
----
we the sun and moon
in our tiny universe...
lighting each other
-----
she begs him to write
all the bold unspoken words...
that can mean so much
-----
our souls decided
that we should make one poem...
of our wants and needs
-----
she stirs in her sleep
a whisper escapes her lips...
far away i hear
-----
hid her sins from me
until she knew i loved her...
made her sins holy
-----
In a quandry of desire,
Seeking to satisfy
Needs so long secret,
Yet, how to fit it in
The love they share
She invites him to
Join her in her
Pleasures, teaching,
Touching, guiding,
Apt pupil he, who,
Quickly learns to
Bring her lessons
To their climax.
-----
the toys by her bed
set the tone for the evening...
the rules flexible

HAIKU BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, DECEMBER 7, 2021 - LOVE, PLEASURE, DREAMS, NAKEDNESS
woman as you are
the entirety of you...
needed and desired
-----
from dreams emerging
lover clad in my desires...
gossamer raiment
-----
make no promises
words wander off in the wind
place love in my hands
-----
her soft shy buds swell
awakened by lover's touch
warm breathless kisses
-----
show bold nakedness
call courage to bare ourselves
so love may know all
-----
you will never see
those deep scars i keep hidden...
which bleed words daily
-----
each word on the page
first was a wound on my soul...
which will never heal
-----
how a dream should end
you beside me as i sleep...
still there as i wake
-----
our private pleasure
exploring each other's lands...
love's an adventure
-----
you smiled at my words
seeing what i could not see...
i discovered me

SWIMMING WITH YOU
you
love
in the
fiery pool
of desire
Embracing your
hunger
with eager
excitement
Welcoming
each touch
each kiss
each sigh
Submerging in
ecstasy
we dive
Into
euphoric depths
of pleasure
Floating
in communion
of contentment
with you
love

FINGERS CARESS SKIN, AND OTHER POEMS WRITTEN APRIL 7, 2020
fingers caress skin
most arousing sensation...
i ache with desire
-----
show me no regrets
let pleasure overtake you...
it's what we're here for
-----
kisses like petals
gently touch me up and down...
and we both blossom
-----
naive innocence
queen of seductive powers...
secret sorceress
-----
the fragrance of you
i breathe in waves of passion...
arousal in the air
-----
her lust does not tarnish
arising from love's desire...
angelic human
-----
your softest whisper
reaches me from far away...
moon our messenger
-----
color fills her cheeks
her breast rises fast and full...
irresistible

MOMENTS OF PLEASURE, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN WRITTEN MARCH 4, 2020
moments of pleasure
our afternoon interludes
times of guiltless sin
-----
falling leaves floating
side to side on autumn breeze
humming through the trees
-----
my words messages
poems adrift on the sea
seeking your soft shores
-----
Old customs leave us
To be missed a bit
Perhaps as memory.
My great aunt Lula always
Wore her "widow's weeds"
In public after uncle Irwin died.
Respecting his memory,
Widow in public,
Woman at home alone
In her simple floral dress,
Hair up in a bun,
Awaiting death.
-----
Life is a two edged word
One edge is obvious,
Necessary...
Existence.
The other is optional,
Less specific...
Pleasure.
Yet one gives the other
Worth,
Value,
Purpose,
To truly live
One must live.
Tricky word,
Those who understand...
Understand.
-----
humming an old song
near forgotten melody
wordless memory
-----
her brilliant flower
love's sweetly scented blossom
in nature's garden
-----
nature speaks to me
ancient tongue i understand
but cannot utter
-----
I am never alone
For discourse I, at least,
Can see one side
Upon the page,
The words of,
Philosophers, and
Frivolous fools
Poets, potentates, and
Pundits,
And, as for company,
Your eyes upon me
In my imagined room,
Hand warm upon
My shoulder,
As I read.
-----
Some own the land
On which I stand,
But none all that I see.
And for the ocean
I have the notion
It alone belongs to me.
Those with gems and rings
Own material things,
Which reside within my being
They'll never own
For they've never known
The poet's way of seeing.
-----
strange though i may be
i am but poet at heart
sharing dreams in words
-----
madly making love
lost in the moment's passion
our desires set free
-----
who i am inside
lover of life sun and wind
i will share with you

POEMS WRITTEN JANUARY 3, 2020 BY DONOVAN BALDWIN
the gown i picture you in
i can see your love
-----
As poet I have neither
Morality or scruples
Time nor direction
Nor other limiting
Dimensions which
Constrain or restrain
For I must put down
Naked emotion and desire
In trust that each reader
Will understand my
Poetic lusts
And forgive me
My innocent sins.
-----
place my words on you
guide them instead of my hands
to give you pleasure
-----
and if she craves more
still has not been satisfied
i'll be there for her
-----
i decorate you
most immodestly in ways
to inflame desires
-----
our eager bodies
tangled within silken sheets
let's sin together
-----
between our touches
beneath tender caresses
we become lovers
-----
how feral it feels
this desire for your touches
hot animal pleasure
-----
old lips not cold lips
loving experienced hands
and a well trained heart
-----
you ripple through me
unending force of nature
blending our beings
-----
I left you alone too long,
Too lonely alone too long,
And coming home,
I found you did things
Without me.
And I was
Embarrassed,
Afraid I had hurt you,
But, you looked at me,
Invited me to join you,
And I did,
And you did it alone
Together with me,
And I never left you alone,
Too long again,
Because it was more fun
Doing it with you,
Everything.
-----
dance of your blossom
entices this humble bee
craving your honey

POETRY AND HAIKU BY DONOVAN BALDWIN NOVEMBER 16 - NOVEMBER 30, 2019
*she's a small icon
image of love's deity
always within reach
*dipped in her honey
lips dripping love's sweet potion
guiltless festival
*mountains rise and fall
nicely capped with rosy rock
breathless exertion
*playful wind stirs grass
as breath rushes through her reeds
i will drink my fill
*sappho at my side
beauty of so many kinds
we choose to love all
SUNDAY 20191117
*shorter grew the days
and winter was upon us
you were always spring
*my coffee is hot
sun peeps over horizon
and my words begin
*the beauty i crave
never painted or powdered
natural woman
*touching her the way
moonlight drawn upon her skin
turns her into art
figure in shadow
forever lover in mist
film noir of lost love
*open wide your words
welcome me into your mind
pour love over me
*her wordless demands
each need fulfilled with pleasure
guttural reward
-----
Current "knowledge" should never be thought of as beyond challenge. This acceptance of questioning orthodoxy as a valid intellectual or scientific pursuit, however, should not be presumed to imply that current knowledge is wrong, incorrect, or outdated.
Challenges to knowledge sometimes may improve, strengthen, or prove the authenticity and validity of that knowledge.
Learning in what ways knowledge, or even belief, may be challenged, or accepted, can lead to a better understanding of why and how we believe or understand, and how to defend them and fit them into our lives.
-----
*read me poetry
most erotic you can find
as i show you love
*i know what you did
sweet sin and how tired your smile
after you cried out
*she never says stop
we both know the kind of love
without boundaries
*warmed by her body
within her soft strong welcome
embraced by her love
*kisses you can't feel
yet feel all the way inside
kisses always there
*removing it all
she bares and reveals herself
body mind and soul
*i stroll her pathway
touching her gentle nature
absorbing her love
*with our hearts afire
we will light and warm the night
brightly together
*do not be afraid
i recognize your beauty
praise and love your soul
-----
The place is lost,
An unmarked grave
Where lies a little girl.
No headstone,
The small mound of dirt,
Returned to level
Grassy earth.
We walked to the back
The corner to the right,
I remember that much,
But, all has faded,
And, she, sister,
Born too soon
Sleeps without visitors,
But is remembered.
(My sister, Katherine Elizabeth Baldwin, born prematurely 1949, only lived one day.)
----
*dancing in moon glow
silver body weaving her spell
on the one she's claimed
MONDAY 20191118
*an awesome tango
horizontally performed
ending with a dip
*my sleeping lover
rocked to slow deep breaths i take
her head on my chest
*lost in crashing waves
swept up by nature's demands
gasping on the shore
*blossom in the dark
beauty known by touch and taste...
by the song she sings
*learned more watching her
than from gray's anatomy
and she never knew
*it's not really sin
two lovers committed to
true carnal delight
*let's read poetry
entwined so physically
we two become one
*we three so well met
lovers in combinations
you, me, poetry
-----
We walk hand in hand in hand
Lovers stepping together
Boldly into a world
Which cannot understand
The combinations
And permutations,
Which we,
Strange creatures,
Exchanging kisses
And caresses,
Without reservation,
See only as
Variations on
A common theme of love.
-----
Don't want to change the world,
Not seeking for acceptance,
But, I am who I am,
Must be what I must be,
Not hiding behind
A pretense of a person
I really don't wish to be,
Hoping that at least a few
Will recognize I've stepped
Beyond curiosity,
To become my own reality.
------
I understand your fear,
Or your uncertainty,
For, once I was you,
And the reaction
To difference,
To strangeness,
Is natural and human,
Yet, someone once
Built me a bridge, and,
Having seen the other side,
Can never go back
To the single person
I was before.
-----
I walk like a ninja,
Or, perhaps, a ballerino,
Stepping delicately
In counterpoint to
My natural
All-American male,
Mountain man,
Walk, yet, perhaps
Not so strange, for,
To eat,
To survive,
A mountain man,
Had to move like
A ghost
Through the woods,
To evade the foe,
And find his food.
-----
*just want to make love
lie with you in the moonlight
create memories
TUESDAY 20191118
*her deep energy
visible on the surface
breaking all her bonds
*prepared for pleasure
stripped and bare she waits alone
her own best lover
*carve soft marble
give it her curves and her shape
never as lovely
*you began as lust
now i need you every way
you have become love
*moon spreads her blanket
silver cover on the ground
for lovers' pleasure
-----
Sunshine is a tide,
A golden flood,
With ebb and flow,
Rising at dawn,
Ebbing at dusk,
But moonlight,
Ah, moonlight,
My quiet friend,
Is a still comfort,
A loving blanket,
Which remains
Spreading its comfort
Throughout the night.
-----
WEDNESDAY 20191120
*put me in my place
gather me up, take me in
join us together
*her whispered love songs,
rise, aria's crescendo,
signalling climax
*je t'aime mi amor
the french strange upon my tongue
speaks so well of love
*your arms around me
drawing me closer until
just love's between us
-----
Black clouds at sunset,
Wispy calligraphy,
Against a golden
Western sky,
Read the same
From left to right,
Or right to left,
A mighty message,
Read by dreamers
And slightly mad poets,
Who can see such things,
And understand them.
-----
*in this breathless night
giggles, whispers, and laughter
playful like children
-----
I live in a land of dreams,
Pursuing shadows of
Fantasies of
Past and future,
Seeking beauty
And truth...
Not always the same,
But equally important
To my heart and mind,
Yet, upon my quest,
Diverted and detained
By folk and images,
I wish not to allow
To disrupt
My imaginary
Existence,
So real to me.
-----
*lie so still for me
teach me your deepest desires
our little secret
*i'll be your refuge
from life's troubles and its fears
and you will be mine
*dawn's kiss is so sweet
but i must say that i've learned
your lips are sweeter
*held within your arms
i desire your caresses
surrender to you
*we two lovers write
of romance using our own
plots and dialogue
-----
I see faces in the clouds,
Hear hear stories on the wind,
Knowing you can see
And hear them too,
For the wind once spoke with you,
And, moving on about the world,
Passed the message along,
In the winds
Which push the cloud portraits about,
Until its story can be spoken
As I look up and see your face,
In the soft billows in the sky.
-----
*sunset on the bay
soft ripples of gold and blue
one gull company
-----
If there be an idol in my home,
Upon my shelf an ancient tome,
I almost daily stoop to peruse,
The thoughts within this book, my muse,
Or, at least, the one that I can view,
But, most inspiration comes from you.
-----
*turn your soft pages
read your sweetest parts held close
in the fading light
*silver skinned goddess
beckoning in the moonlight...
immortality
THURSDAY 20191121
*touches tantalize
careful caresses converge
pulsating pleasure
*did you love someone
i'm glad you've sweet memories
but now please be mine
FRIDAY 20191122
My favorite love story,
Tale of you and me,
Written, read, and re-read,
Again and again,
Each time your words appear,
The thought of you,
Behind my daily moments
Assumes its brilliance,
Blinding and reminding,
Me of the beauty,
We have come to share,
Through words and thought.
-----
*fingers mark the place
separating the pages
you wish me to read
*sweet forbidden fruit
tempting beyond the garden
it's my task to tend
*listen with your eyes
my words spoken in your mind
poems made feeling
*hold me hold me tight
cuddle close share warmth with me
breathe into my heart
*you're pressed against me
with tight embrace from behind
i kiss your warm neck
*tears streak down my cheek
as i read your life story
begin revisions
*between halting words
fill gaps with understanding
of my love's meanings
*she gasps breathlessly
her desires and promises
again and again
*much too far apart
all plans thwarted by distance
joined by our desires
*you make me write things
dreams and pretty poetry
as you share your mind
*so dignified she's
perfectly at ease on knees
and happy to please
SATURDAY 20191123
all the lovely words
i strive to weave together
in describing you
-----
If I could dream
But one more time,
The thrilling dreams
A young man knew,
Before the world so
Wearied him,
Shook him out,
Dried him in
The hot sun of life,
I would go back into
The deepest fantasy,
Most romantic love
I ever dreamed
To find you,
Hold you,
Forever.
-----
These crackling leaves beneath my feet,
The present evidence of this Autumn,
This here and now,
Transport me back across days and years,
Across oceans unto foreign lands,
Which somehow seem now so much like home,
For their leaves, I've learned
Spoke the same crinkled words in my ears,
No matter where I was,
Or will be.
-----
*be my painted love
sit naked in model's pose
i'll draw with my words
-----
*no matter how low
i know she's there beside me
lifting me back up
*pages of one book
we two are a love story
written by the gods
-----
What power has the moon within itself?
Existing, a cold colorless stone, often dark as night,
Hanging inconspicuously in distant space,
Black on black, yet, reflecting sun's distant rays,
It becomes a bright night jewel in the ebony sky,
Beloved of lovers, sharing its borrowed light,
In another way, changing hot fire to cold light.
Through some strange alchemy it transmutes,
Day's unrare gold into night's sacred silver,
Sorcerer's substance through arcane powers
Turning all it touches mystically wondrous.
-----
*my eyes burn deeply
exposing most naked thoughts
making us both smile
SUNDAY 20191124
Footsteps stir the leaves,
Some leaping up
In the wind,
As if to catch my attention.
In their whispers I hear
A loving voice,
In their patterns I see
The gentle, wistful smile,
Of someone so far away,
A loving voice,
Whispering to me,
In the passing of
The fallen leaves,
That we are together,
Even when so far apart.
-----
*closing of my day
shadow of night encroaches
gobbling up the light
*i can't help myself
my thoughts turn to you each day
without my asking
*i feel your touch
as your words and mine hold hands
strolling in the world
*open wide your gate
guide me into your garden
obey our natures
*never so wondrous
garden of a thousand blooms
your one is enough
*fall asleep with me
in your mind echoes of words
that i wrote for you
*soft silken petals
the skirts of her blushing rose
spread beneath my breeze
-----
If the wind should pass by me
Whispering its usual tales
Should I listen for your words?
Will you send me messages,
By breeze and sun and moon?
Have the stars spell out
The love story that is
Natural and nature to us as
The rest of earth,
The universe and all?
-----
*your innocent dance
naive seduction with words
sincere shared desires
MONDAY 20191125
*just wear your smile love
shy timid i trust you smile
that's more than enough
*no smooth young girls please
for me the textured woman
ripened on the bush
*yes a chilly day
but the rising of her skin
caused by soft caress
*her sweet ripened fruit
savory juices dripping
my sinful delight
*i drink from love's well
with its warm waters flowing
as if to bathe me
*warm wine flavored lips
hers to mine the tastes we share
flowing between us
-----
Standing alone beneath the moon,
As the night wind begins
To sing its evensong,
Reciting tales of
Lovers past
And yet to come,
Such ones as you and I,
Who have pledged our love
Despite the distances between us.
-----
From the forges of the Middle Ages,
Born in flame and glowing steel,
Came the armor and the art
Of that time, both dipped in blood,
For, to be an artist, could be
A form of death warrant,
The skill of the craftsman's hands,
In either case deciding fate,
Of poet and armored prince,
Tales of daring and loving,
Young and old and high and low,
Bound together by sword and pen.
-----
How ancient are the arts of love?
What cave maiden first enticed
Her bear skin covered hunter,
With the sway of hip
The thrust of breast,
Lift of lip,
Beside a smoky fire,
In a dimly lit cave,
As, from some darkened corner,
Came the sounds
Of what they too
Were about to do?
-----
TUESDAY 20191126
*her flower blooms best
love's caress and tender kiss
in succulent warmth
(alternate)
*rosy bloom tended
love's caress and tender kiss
in succulent warmth
*reveal your true self
expose innocent desires
slip into my heart
-----
She wanders through the night,
Flowers, twinkling stars,
Clutched in her unseen hands,
Lady Moon, smiling to herself,
And at all we lovers below.
I remember her loving lullaby,
Silver susurration of sound,
Softly sibilant as was the snow
Whispering through evening air,
Brushing branches in its fall,
In another place and time...
A memory of mine.
-----
*beating waves raise us
you and i lifted up tossed
dropped upon the shore
*my touch says much more
than all words at my command
one touch... you would know
WEDNESDAY 20191127
*i ache to touch
one who lives so far away
if but with my mind
*i drink your hot words
feel the warmth in my belly
spreading throughout me
*ribbons of desire
so gaily wrapped about us
gift for all seasons
*we read love poems
cursive script on old parchment
with candles and wine
*lady godiva
riding naked through the town
bareback you might say
*if i had found you
in some other place and time
would i loved like this?
*master of the feast
caught up in festivities
appetites sated
*your past means little
i love you as you are now
woman you became
*one dear gentle thorn
hard guard within her petals
its prick ecstasy
-----
In morning cold beside the pond,
Reflecting on old memories,
Lingering sounds of old songs,
Soft as dust on the wind,
Voices singing forgotten tunes,
To the music of instruments,
Only I can hear,
Or, perhaps, only the cries,
Of wild birds on the wing.
-----
*i always see you
even when you think i don't
i can't not see you
*i will unwrap you
my special holiday gift
for hours of pleasure
THURSDAY (THANKSGIVING) 20191128
Gray light paints
Rain wet streets,
Slowly illuminating,
Turning shadows
Into trees,
Moons into streetlamps,
Fancies and fantasies,
Into dreams, which,
As they must,
Fade before reality,
As I watch the rain wet street
Outside my window,
And wonder why
You're not here with me.
-----
*should we be normal
what fun would that be for us
on the beach at dawn
under one blanket
kissing touching lovingly
watching the sun rise
driven by the surf
pounding on the shore to our
mutual pleasure
-----
*rival of the wind
love's swift travel heart to heart
two falcons in flight
*too lonely the nights
moon only able to shine
upon distant loves
*footsteps in my mind
phantom touches i dream of
all that i can claim
-----
Give names to the dead.
Do not merely erect monuments
Of blank hard granite,
And, carve thereon,
Letters spelling names
Of those who have
Marched the last march,
Gone down beneath
That lonesome bugle's call,
And the last slow
Salute of comrades.,
Give names to the dead,
Call them brother and sister,
And remember them
As they were
As they would want
To be remembered,
Proud and prepared
To do their duty
As they had promised.
Make that their monument,
And never forget.
-----
*the touch of soft silk
caresses your skin conceals
and also reveals
*cold wet and hungry
deep thirst and burned by the sun
i did my duty
FRIDAY 20191129
*rest your head on me
hear a message a love song
within my heartbeats
-----
Connections are so strange.
Walking on a cold morning,
I smell wood smoke.
Someone nearby has a fire in their fireplace.
I look at chimneys seeking the smoke,
And, though I see no smoke,
I see all the other fireplaces
I have sat before.
My boyhood home in Florida.
Another where I sat one night,
Smoking cigarettes,
Drinking beer, and...
Writing poetry.
Several in homes now far behind me,
With their memories...
Some good, some bad,
But mine.
Memories made of chimneys
And anonymous
Wood smoke.
-----
*read me as you will
my words only show my thoughts
you must hear with yours
*touching with my gaze
stripping away the veneer
see you as you are
*i hand you coffee
fingers touch for a moment
that i'll remember
*our language of love
it doesn't always have words
yet uses lips and tongue
-----
Unlike the leaves of fall,
Our past selves do not
Return vibrant and new,
With the passing of the seasons.
Nor, like the leaves of the book,
Can we return to earlier chapters,
But in memory.
We can only be
As new as we are each day,
Read our story,
Write the next chapter,
Shine in our present glory.
-----
SATURDAY 20191130
*walking concrete streets
i return to beach and woods
with each of my steps
-----
In the evening air
Of a Florida long ago,
Mr. Nicholson's beagles bark,
A cat or other animal disturbing them,
The sound through the open windows,
Into the quiet living room
Of my boyhood
As I sit with my father.
Dogs and Mr. Nicholson,
And my father,
Long gone,
Except in my memory.
-----
*i don't ask for much
the most i ever desire
to make you happy
*never deny you
completion of your desires
always at your side
*if a voice calls you
from a place within your dreams
please believe it's mine
-----
Lights of the night are
Lost in the bright of day.
Sun, which lit earth's satellite,
Extinguishes her at birth,
Too jealous to share sky
With moon or other lights,
Though they are there,
To small and afraid
To compete with
That imperious star.
-----
*a blushing blossom
luring the unsuspecting
bedewed with honey
-----
*i'll sip from your cup
love's warm elixir called forth
by our passion's heat
-----
*climb up the tower
seek your lover at its top

POEMS, COMMENTS, AND HAIKU BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, SEPTEMBER 26, 2019
Bright red cardinals
Birdsong and sunshine,
The memories of boyhood,
The wild wind in the trees,
Up from the bay, where
The surf rolled and beat
Upon the shore near enough
To be a part of a boy's life
And the memory of the man.
-----
kisses start my day
her warm morning sweetness
marmalade on toast
-----
you are a goddess
my idol of happiness
altar of pleasure
-----
soft against your skin
those warm words upon my breath
become caresses
-----
garden of embrace
flower of welcome desires
fruit of our passion
-----
my mind's subtlety
it weaves thought and word into
images of you
-----
when you're making love
physical sex isn't all
make it personal
-----
my fingers like lace
barely touching revealing
the beauty of you
-----
my words as fabric
so sheer and diaphanous
you are seen through them

POEMS, COMMENTS, AND HAIKU BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, SEPTEMBER 21, 2019
sensuously licking me
with your burning tongue
-----
Decadent my desires,
So they would tell me,
Yet, when I hold you,
I cannot imagine
Any evil within
Our ardent embrace
Or its ultimate end,
Which we both desire,
With amorous breaths
Respectful caresses,
For a lifetime of unity.
-----
a form of madness
flowing poetry of words
not real yet most real
-----
loving beyond laws
exploring adventuring
pleasure's boundaries
-----
in our secret rooms
lovers permitted entry
their ticket our trust
-----
happiness, pleasure,
more important than mine
yours, for that will be ours
-----
i do not matter
your happiness and pleasure
what i care about
-----
i find my teen self
in this ancient gray haired man
who now understands
-----
wish I could drop out
disappear take her with me
start over again
-----
my absent lover
still always present within
mysterious void
-----
as embers in the wind
i watch your erotic dance
weaving love in air
-----
neither of us slave
each master of the other
by common desire
-----
smoke upon the air
you swirl warmly around me
part of every breath
-----
a mystic blossom
your majestic flowering
garden of one bloom
-----
Reminders, constant,
Not the person
I like to think I am,
Failure in the moment,
Just when I think
I'm doing well...
Reminders...
Just to keep me on my toes,
Realize my failures...
Reminders...
Of weaknesses and errors.

POEMS AND HAIKU BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, AUGUST 17, 2019
The ones the public
Doesn't know you know...
Hoarsely, desperately rasp them out,
In the passion of the moment,
Instructions,
Desires,
Wishes,
Dreams,
Which the world cannot know,
But a lover can,
And respond,
Fulfilling wishes
In your fantasy world.
-----
i know she would be
a magnificent lover
if only she dared
-----
never be afraid
to be your naughty self
i love you that way
-----
i have no secrets
why hide my true self from you
just know me, love me
-----
you're desirable...
i must now speak honestly
i want all of you
-----
touch me with your skin
place kisses on my body
caress me with words
-----
tell me once i'm yours
desire me for who i am
just say it one time
-----
love you as you are
but, let's make one simple change
trade your clothes for skin
-----
look into my eyes
penetrate my mind's secrets
see our same desires
-----
never seen or touched
yet sexy as hell to me
your stark naked mind
-----
I don't know how to be
All I want,
All I need to be,
For you,
For myself,
So,
I try to be the best me
That I possibly can
And hope
That's satisfactory...
All I can...
That's what I promise,
I've nothing else.
-----
my most common dream?
that you sometimes dream of me.
not too much to ask.
-----
no secrets from my love
sharing all i think, say, do
she and i are one
-----
from my heart i ask
your loving acquiescence
that we become one
-----
i dare not touch you
because i'm a gentleman
my flimsy excuse
-----
tried to find myself
using both hands in public
now under arrest
-----
i will lift you up
knowing your lowest secrets
proudly loving you
-----
together, music
my needle within your groove
oh, sweet melody
-----
all i say or do
is a reflection of love
and you the mirror
-----
whatever you want
that's what i want us to do
your pleasure is mine
-----
please touch me right there
i'll take your mind and guide you
for both our pleasures
-----
i would kiss you there,
then leave some more all over,
make you ask for more
-----
never seen or touched
yet sexy as hell to me
your stark naked mind
-----

THE TASTE YOU LEFT, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN
You left a taste in me
A flavor that lingers
Surpassing what the mouth
Can only sense.
I want my body to savor
Each moment of desire
Fulfilled by your permitted
Access to all that you are,
Woman to be loved
And remembered
And recalled with
Every sense I possess.
- Donovan Baldwin
-----
weaving through your hair
my fingers take hold gently
stronger with desire
-----
show me your blossom
pink petals blooming with joy
sweet nectar flowing
-----
hot bodies entwined
moonlit skins blend into one
loving creation
-----
his voice rasps in her ear
tells her plainly his intents
she rises expectant
-----
may i sin with you
as we join our burning flesh
in love's old embrace?
-----
we two meant to be
exploring love's boundaries
finding there are none
-----
nerve endings aflame
seeking gratification
her natural mood
-----
quivering pleasure, as
she, contorted courtesan
writhes in her passions
-----
Wish I could write words yesterday,
Several years ago, for you to find,
Clues to who I am, was, will be,
So that when you find me
You will recognize the lover,
Who has dreamed you all these years.
-----
ardently entwined
delightful intimacy
mutual pleasure
-----
love should be open,
with admiring respect, not
furtive fulfillment
-----
take and teach, show me...
guide me.... i will comply with
flexible response
-----
jaunty old roué
not done with admiration
passing, tips his hat
-----
what am i seeking?
my pleasure in your pleasure...
my ultimate goal
-----
intimate assault
her tormented recesses
quickened to release
-----
penance for my sins
not allowed to fall in love
forbidden desire
