IF I COULD USE MY WORDS - A POEM BY DONOVAN BALDWIN
If I could use my words
I would use them to:
Tease you, tantalize you, tempt you,
Cajole, caress, and comfort you.
Take you, wrapped in love's embrace
To the heights of ecstasy,
And further still...
Until...
Gasping with the pleasure of the ride,
You collapsed with me once more,
Upon the breast of Earth.
I would use my words to:
Bring you to your knees,
Pledging undying love,
And a willingness to
Do my bidding in all ways
So that I could have the joy
Of freeing you from that pledge.
If I could use my words so well,
I would use them
To make you speak the truth
About the deepest secrets and desires
Within your heart.
And, with my words, I would assure
That you never doubted
Your secrets would be kept.
But, never could I use my words
To hurt, harm, or disrespect
The pure, sweet soul
Within your breast.

POEM: WRITE TO ME OF LOVE
Write to me of love
Both sacred and profane.
Draw for me secrets
Within your pounding heart.
Song of the ends of
Exhilaration and ecstasy
Of your mind and body.
Step boldly, shyly forward
Eternally exposed by
Trailing transparent words.
How to describe you
Two simple words say so much...
Passionate woman
Write me honest words
Toss veils and cloaks far aside...
Show me who you are
Exposing at last
Your naked soul
Spilling out her words
Poetry in blood red ink...
Ichor of my muse

SWIMMING WITH YOU
you
love
in the
fiery pool
of desire
Embracing your
hunger
with eager
excitement
Welcoming
each touch
each kiss
each sigh
Submerging in
ecstasy
we dive
Into
euphoric depths
of pleasure
Floating
in communion
of contentment
with you
love

HER COMPLEXITIES, AND OTHER POETRY BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, WRITTEN MARCH 8, 2020
her complexities
geometric progressions...
to convexities
-----
Having caught sight of love
Two daring adventurers
Set sail on stormy seas,
Bound together in their
Explorations of exciting land,
New sensations shared
And sensed again and again,
For the bold pleasure
They find on their
Ocean of love in
One another's arms.
-----
i will kiss your neck
pressing my body to yours
breath warm on your back
-----
met and guided in
welcomed with more than nuance
buried deep within
-----
to simply touch her
to have that moment that right...
within her desires
-----
bold passionate words
shadows of reality...
making love to her
-----
craving caresses
captive of carnal desires...
my helpless body
-----
far beyond delight
busty woman back arching...
her blossom blushing
-----
admire her necklace
touching her bosom gently...
she smiles her consent
(Inspired by lines from Vidyapati Bangiya Padabali, by Vidyapati Thakura)
-----
wildly beating heart
highest moment of desire...
her secrets set free
-----
many ways we kiss
playful lips wandering hands
bring joint ecstasy
-----
skilled in passion's lore
she thinks herself innocent
but her heart holds fire
-----
her womanly wiles
so completely seductive
exposing her mind
-----
passion flows oe'r us
who could turn the tide or would
when wet in its waves
-----
arms crossed and on guard
keeping her secrets hidden...
but not from my thoughts

PACIFIC WAVES BEAT ROCKS, AND OTHER POEMS WRITTEN BY DONOVAN BALDWIN FEBRUARY 26, 2020
Pacific waves beat rocks
Leaping into the sky
With exultation
And exuberance,
In their tumultuous
Excitement, showing off,
For birds, sea lions,
Tourists,
Amateur photographers,
And lovers who love
Each other, and,
The leaping of the waves.
-----
touch my many scars
make the ancient pains abate
weep for old losses
-----
within our dark room
seeing with our roving hands
intimate details
-----
Yes, the rising of the sun
Half dreamed aroma of coffee,
The burgeoning mass of
Poetic thoughts pushing
Against the rusty gateway
Of my sleeping mind,
Strive to waken me,
But, it is the thoughts
I have of you and me,
Which rouse me,
In private ways,
To cast the covers back
And, with bare feet
Upon cold floor,
Rise to greet the day.
-----
You are a force
Immutable beyond expectation,
Seeing the soft warmth,
With which you approach,
Arms outstretched to embrace,
Bringing substance to
A rapidly misting
Creature lost in legend
And walking in lands
Of fantasy and legend,
Changing innocent mortals
Into confused historians
And wandering poets.
-----
warm beside my own
i sense your sleeping body
dream i'm not dreaming
-----
i awake at four
spending my next two gray hours
between sleep and dreams
-----
unconditional
unrestrained intimacy
carnal ecstasy

FIRST POEMS OF 2020 BY DONOVAN BALDWIN
venus in my hands
free amid sunshine and breeze
touched in loving ways
-----
eternal springtime
lovers never leave the time
when first they found love
-----
love when we're apart
don't just say you think of me
share the sounds you make
-----
When the ecstasy arrives,
When the thunder fills your body
The blood rushes in your ears,
The heat fills you,
And the only control you have
Is to say my name with
Gasping breaths,
Let me hold you,
Be there with you,
Share that stormy moment
Of love, body and soul,
Made one thing.
-----
exhausted coupling
flaming burst of ecstasy
forged by our passion
-----
pleasure's pressure builds
at the touch of your fingers
ecstasy arrives
-----
as adam and eve
bare in garden paradise
natural lovers
-----
We kiss and all dissolves,
For bodies become one,
In the joining of our mouths,
So wet and excited,
Spilling love back and forth,
Playfully touching tongues,
Mixing moisture as our bodies
Imprint one another,
Forgetting where one ends
And the other begins.
Nothing else but the kiss,
And the one we become.
-----
the hour of your kiss
moment of warm wet sharing
beginning of life
-----
your love for a kiss
true trinket to trade for gold
which lasts forever
-----
our love shakes the sky
soars with thunder and lightning
ends in soft embrace
-----
Trees and plants I remember,
My minor boyhood forest,
Small lad within the fence,
Remembering the oak,
One dead one broken,
The Chinaberry and dogwood
Both now gone, as too,
The arbor vitae, and the yucca,
From which we made swords,
Even the dead stump to which
We tied our enemies.
Trees, friends, playthings,
Gone with time but
In my memory.
-----
My first kisses,
Almost accidental,
Lenora and I,
Alone together
In the dark,
Bumbling,
Fumbling,
Kissing,
Innocent and ignorant,
Yet intent upon
Fulfilling our
Teenage destinies
Pretending
To be lovers
Even if only
For a night in the
Country club parking lot
Watching, over the bay,
A most romantic moon,
We had no idea how to use
Appropriately.
