YOUR FAVORITE TOYS, AND OTHER POEMS, BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, AUGUST 11, 2024

your favorite toys

stashed with your erotica

for your private times

-----

those wonderful words

that strip away your outer garb

leaving you naked

-----

no single person

can catch all the love that spills from me

too much love is lonely

-----

time to time pauses

remembering the poet

who's kept her secrets

-----

touching an orchid

eyes and fingers follow curves

wet with loving dew

-----

herculean task

displaying feelings with words

instead of kisses

------

words took you with them

on that journey poets know

while i waited here

-----

never spoke a word

yet he screamed to her of love

from the written page

-----

while the world fails me

deep within my wicked dreams

you and i make love

-----

one treasured moment

let's look at one another

and call it foreplay

-----

she's much respected

socially acceptable

her flames well hidden

-----

you have changed my world

with real words imagined smile

yourself as you are

I HEARD THE WIND SPEAK OF YOU - A POEM BY DONOVAN BALDWIN

I heard the wind speak of you.

The waves whispered secrets

That I could barely understand,

And yet, and yet, I craved to meet

This fabled creature never found

On this earth in this life, until,

One day I wrote a poem and

I felt your eyes upon it and

Following the gaze found at last

The hidden woman I had sought.

HER PENT UP DESIRES, AND OTHER MICROPOEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN

By Donovan Baldwin

her pent up desires

swore herself to keep hidden...

the secrets he sought

-----

holds her lips apart

kiss beginning or at end...

open promises

-----

i lost sight of love

just how brightly it can shine...

in the darkest hours

-----

her colors arrive

touching my heart before spring...

our special season

-----

memories wander

light and dark some good some bad...

sometimes bad ones stick

-----

sometimes my old wounds

open beneath life's demands...

bleeding for a while

-----

no peace or quiet

constant noise and vibration...

shattering my thoughts

-----

near the train's too loud

fading into the distance...

leaves us quiet thoughts

-----

a lover's question

does love end and lust begin...

can they coexist

-----

with a small sadness

i quit following my dreams...

they never noticed

-----

dancer transitions

urban gray to forest green...

vibrantly alive

-----

i guess i shamed her

allowng her to see true me...

for she turned away

-----

listen for her voice

all i can hear are footsteps...

as distant echoes

-----

said she loved my words

yet never heard from again...

guess she forgot me

HER COMPLEXITIES, AND OTHER POETRY BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, WRITTEN MARCH 8, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

her complexities
geometric progressions...
to convexities

-----

Having caught sight of love
Two daring adventurers
Set sail on stormy seas,
Bound together in their
Explorations of exciting land,
New sensations shared
And sensed again and again,
For the bold pleasure
They find on their
Ocean of love in
One another's arms.

-----

i will kiss your neck
pressing my body to yours
breath warm on your back

-----

met and guided in
welcomed with more than nuance
buried deep within

-----

to simply touch her
to have that moment that right...
within her desires

-----

bold passionate words
shadows of reality...
making love to her

-----

craving caresses
captive of carnal desires...
my helpless body

-----

far beyond delight
busty woman back arching...
her blossom blushing

-----

admire her necklace
touching her bosom gently...
she smiles her consent

(Inspired by lines from Vidyapati Bangiya Padabali, by Vidyapati Thakura)

-----

wildly beating heart
highest moment of desire...
her secrets set free

-----

many ways we kiss
playful lips wandering hands
bring joint ecstasy

-----

skilled in passion's lore
she thinks herself innocent
but her heart holds fire

-----

her womanly wiles
so completely seductive
exposing her mind

-----

passion flows oe'r us
who could turn the tide or would
when wet in its waves

-----

arms crossed and on guard
keeping her secrets hidden...
but not from my thoughts

CLAD IN FILMY GOWN, AND OTHER POETRY BY DONOVAN BALDWIN WRITTEN MARCH 6, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

clad in filmy gown
hints of her secrets showing
smiling at his ache

-----

she unfolds blossoms
sees her lover's wide desire
offers sweet tipped tarts

-----

stripped and naked
such an erotic picture
her entire soul bare

-----

Lovers often bare themselves.
Nakedness is a common state
For the making of love,
The practice, oh so wonderful,
Of sexual pleasures,
Body to body,
Intertwined and
Penetrating,
But,
To truly bare,
All and everything,
To allow exploration,
Penetration,
Of every crevice
That we hide in,
To walk naked into love
Supremely confident,
Poised and proud,
Because we need never hide,
Be ashamed,
Not only with the one we love,
But the one who truly loves us,
Is the ultimate in making love,
Physically, mentally, emotionally,
With the whole, true, and entire
Persons that we are.

-----

the rise of your breast
tells me of hidden desires
embers in your eyes

-----

flower is open
and i inquisitive bee
seek her sweet nectar

-----

power in the skies
bright undulating lightning
crashing of the storm

-----

discretely naked
she thinks he cannot love me
he enters and does

-----

the girls are all gone
and frankly i am happy
women are better

Secret Of The Experts

Years ago, I was an optician. I sometimes helped patients with problems they were having with their glasses.

Sometimes a patient would say their glasses were not adjusted quite right.

Most issues could be resolved easily, but, occasionally, a patient could be difficult. Of course, when it was a matter of personal comfort, that was one thing, but, when it was a matter of how a bifocal, or a strong lens, should sit in relation to the eye, that's another.

Sometimes, after several adjustments, an experienced optician would know the glasses were perfect, but, the patient would still complain that they were "not quite" right.

I would "think" for a minute. Give an "Aha!" look, seek an imaginary tool, and head briskly for the back, saying with certainty, "Somebody must have taken the tool I need into the lab. It's what I've needed to fix these."

Once in the lab, I would lay the glasses on a shelf, and go have a cigarette (I smoked back then.). After a few minutes, I would grab the glasses, go back to the patient, beaming at the glasses and holding them as if I was proud of them.

I would hand them to the patient, saying, "Yep! That did it!"

They would put them on and were satisfied.

Worked every time.

Sometimes things ARE okay. We just want confirmation.
