YOU SPEAK TO ME - A POEM

 By Donovan Baldwin

Even without words,

You speak to me.,,

Of quiet walks

On moonlit shores,

Love songs softly played,

On old guitars,

Of candles fluttering

In an evening breeze,

As gossamer curtains

Dance to the same

Unheard music...

Of stories laughed at,

Lies disbelieved with

A smile and upraised eyebrow

And, quiet, special looks,

In private pauses...

Of fingers touching

Across an old table,

Marked with years,

And promises of more,

For those sharing there...

Of wishes, dreams, desires,

Granted and still in

The hands of Fate,

And, silent prayers,

For their fulfillment...

Of times gone by,

And yet to come,

History not yet made,

But, with luck,

The finest moments,

Of them all...

Of all this and more...

Even without words,

You speak to me.

HAIKU BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, DECEMBER 7, 2021 - LOVE, PLEASURE, DREAMS, NAKEDNESS

 woman as you are

the entirety of you...

needed and desired

-----

from dreams emerging

lover clad in my desires...

gossamer raiment

-----

make no promises

words wander off in the wind

place love in my hands

-----

her soft shy buds swell

awakened by lover's touch

warm breathless kisses

-----

show bold nakedness

call courage to bare ourselves

so love may know all

-----

you will never see

those deep scars i keep hidden...

which bleed words daily

-----

each word on the page

first was a wound on my soul...

which will never heal

-----

how a dream should end

you beside me as i sleep...

still there as i wake

-----

our private pleasure

exploring each other's lands...

love's an adventure

-----

you smiled at my words

seeing what i could not see...

i discovered me

FROM A MIST OF DREAMS, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN WRITTEN FEBRUARY 24, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

from a mist of dreams
coalescing form takes shape
glides into my arms

-----

i fall to my knees
prepared to pay homage to
my carnal huntress

-----

her earthy desires
whispered boldly in my ear
mine to help come true

-----

always the lady
as she discretely fulfills
lascivious needs

-----

relaxed and ready
wearing an inviting smile
seductive repose

-----

featherlike touches
soft sensuous caresses
deeply arousing

-----

uncontrollable
two lusty lovers on fire
feverish thrusting

WHISPER NAUGHTY THINGS, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN WRITTEN FEBRUARY 23, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

whisper naughty things
give me glimpses of secrets
smile as i respond

-----

always seeking you
sun's touch or whisper of wind
sensing you near me

-----

I open myself to the wind and sun
Dropping inhibitions and clothing,
Walking naked through the woods,
Sensations of air and sunlight
On bare skin in places and ways
That only a lover may touch,
Body and mind alive to each leaf,
Each breeze which passes by
Leaving me quivering
With the pleasure of Earth's
Most natural and loving caresses.

-----

your cello my bow
enthusiastically
making love music

-----

climbing slender trees
riding them in gusting winds
two boys in the woods

-----

horned toads and lizards
daily met on hot white sands
so far behind me

-----

unbreakable bonds
woven of dreams and desires
stronger together

-----

ripples in water
brushstrokes on emerald seas
golden in the sun

-----

weary traveler
beached decaying in the sun
no more a roving

-----

patio shadows
loving dancers in moonlight
their bare skins aglow

-----

you and i on fire
burning with carnal desires
about to explode

-----

shells strewn on the sand
ancient memories set in
hieroglyphics

-----

one tree has blossomed
harbinger of spring perhaps
first burst of new growth

-----

not a jealous man
desire you feel loved
all i really want

THIS SUDDEN NYMPH, AND OTHER POETRY BY DONOVAN BALDWIN

By Donovan Baldwin
Wood Nymphs In The Moonlight by Julius Schmid

i smile to see her
this sudden nymph in moonlight
dashing to my arms

-----

i turned and reached out
one last blind attempt at love
and you took my hand

-----

she's so intimate
drops all that hides her beauty
of body and soul

-----

stripped bare in their love
with nothing to hide behind
surrendering all

-----

it's no illusion
gift of love i offer you
a mystery the same

-----

moan that song for me
the pleasure song with no words
we both love to sing

-----

your moonlight kisses
sending me to my slumbers
appear in my dreams

-----

plucking her flower
caress the stem and petals
nectar on fingers

-----

i know not her shape
kiss caress and word make me
blind at her beauty

-----

we told fairy tales
believing in fantasies
then our stories touched

POEMS AND HAIKU WRITTEN JANUARY 12, 2020 BY DONOVAN BALDWIN

I will cry no more,
For my tears
Have all been spent,
For important things,
Dreams and death and
Departed dogs,
And relatives,
I suppose,
For what is life but
A succession of losses
And the rise of memories?

-----

tonight make love in
our favorite position
and take our sweet time

-----

ribbons of my words
wound about your willing body
caress your desires

-----

she brings me pleasure
as if her thoughts were magic
touching my desires

-----

no cold kiss for us
we set lips and hearts aflame
in our world of fire

-----

my woman goddess
mature no naive virgin
she knows how to love

-----

trembling in the wind
passion blows through your body
beneath my touches

-----

seduce me simply
be yourself within my arms
touch my lips with yours

-----

POEM: DREAMS PASS FROM THE NIGHT

By Donovan Baldwin

Dreams pass from the night,
Cross seas and miles,
Passing through every obstacle
Between separated lovers
As fingertips touch cheeks,
Tears are kissed away,
Lips touch lips most fervently,
Hands are held in quiet strolls,
For lovers' honest dreams,
Conquer all but sad reality.

Dreams Fascinate Us

By: Donovan Baldwin

Dreams.

They fascinate us.

Some see them as "omens" of the future, often harbingers of doom.

Some see them as clarifications of the past.

Some researchers tell us that they are simply the subconscious hard at work trying to make sense out of all the facts and fancies we have been exposed to.

Shakespeare even projected them into death,

"To sleep, perchance to dream; aye, there's the rub, for in that sleep of death, what dreams may come, when we have shuffled off this mortal coil, must give us pause."

Myself, I'm not personally sure what dreams are, but, I tend to go with the researchers. I believe the subconscious, a precocious little beast, may take clues, including ones we are not even consciously aware of, and weave a tapestry of potential events...which may or may not be accurate for many reasons.

However, like the conscious mind, the subconscious can only work with the material it has.

In his book, "The Art of Thinking", Abbé Ernest Dimnet, postulates that filling our minds with fine thoughts and images can make us better thinkers, and persons.

I like that. I try to do that. I fail sometimes, but, I try.

I believe good images, sounds, and words affect my waking and dreaming thoughts and actions.

Just a thought.

Musing in the morning...before coffee.

A Poem About the Sea

To The Sea Of My Hopes
By Miles D.C.

To the sea, to the sea.
Everything flows towards it.
Tears of joy or despair,
make their way eventually,
to the sea.

To sit by its side,
its unpredictable waters,
is to be acquainted once again
and know silence,
as it has been there for thousands of years.
The same silence that whispers
ever so loudly,
dreams and hopes,
if, by chance, you've sat long enough
to be as silent, as it is.

To sit by the ocean,
the ever perpetual sea,
is a privilege of the few
who can see beyond what just is,
and look into the depth
of their own despair
of how, life, as we know it,
follows a rhythm
unlike that of the perpetual sea.
And unlike its nature,
knowing how time will inevitably
one day run out,
to just sit by the sea,
is to know hope.
And with hope, come all love.
Hope floats
when everything else fails.
Hope comes knocking
when it has washed away,
all despair,
all pride,
all anger
at how changeable everything is.
Like the sea.

To the sea then, to the sea.
Everything flows to it.
All the love that I have
makes its way eventually,
to the sea.

Resting my eyes on the horizon,
gazing upon the bright reflection
of the sun on the water,
I turn my face to the it,
to taste and breathe it in,
that distinct ocean scent -
the same one that's seen
a thousand other
hopefuls like me.

Hoping to be set free,
hoping to let go,
hoping to find peace,
in the midst of its turbulent waters.
I plunge head on, unmindful
of the wave upon wave
crashing around me.
Mercilessly.
Uncaring, of how close
or how far, I am to the shore.
Because, I came, to be with the sea.
To offer up my doubts,
my fears,
my laughter,
my happiness,
to its embrace.
Cold yet comforting.

To the sea, to the sea.
Everything flows to the it.
All that we are,
finds its way eventually,
to the sea.

Human life ebb and flow
like the sea, and like the sea,
it carries away
everything... all the pain,
the sins, the regrets.
It washes away even shame.
Shame borne out of living
only half a life.

Ever moving yet ever present.
Ever changing and ever constant.
Ever silent and ever full of the sounds
of the earth.

We'll all find our way,
one day,
to the sea.

That, is my hope, for you and me. http://joybound.wordpress.com/
