HAIKU BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, DECEMBER 7, 2021 - LOVE, PLEASURE, DREAMS, NAKEDNESS

 woman as you are

the entirety of you...

needed and desired

-----

from dreams emerging

lover clad in my desires...

gossamer raiment

-----

make no promises

words wander off in the wind

place love in my hands

-----

her soft shy buds swell

awakened by lover's touch

warm breathless kisses

-----

show bold nakedness

call courage to bare ourselves

so love may know all

-----

you will never see

those deep scars i keep hidden...

which bleed words daily

-----

each word on the page

first was a wound on my soul...

which will never heal

-----

how a dream should end

you beside me as i sleep...

still there as i wake

-----

our private pleasure

exploring each other's lands...

love's an adventure

-----

you smiled at my words

seeing what i could not see...

i discovered me

THE MOST DARING ROUTES, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN WRITTEN APRIL 9, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

Those little lines on maps,
The smallest, sometimes mere dots,
Most boring lines meandering, but,
Upon the earth, becoming
The most daring routes
Beckoning the foolhardy,
Irrepressible adventurers, and,
Poets, who specialize in turning
Boring lines into beautiful
Pathways of the imagination.

-----

Embracing in our cozy love nest,
Intimately entwined in search of
Mutually consensual ecstasy,
Each making love to... for... the other,
We reach that consummate state
Of orgasmic bliss, feeding upon
The pleasure given to our lover.

-----

i'm too old sometimes
the visible part you see...
inside much younger

-----

so bold is her touch
as if sculptor seeking me...
i pose barely breathe

-----

skin touched by night's breeze
in moon glow so sensuous...
goddess in the flesh

-----

i think i taste you
in the flavor of your name...
almost like kisses

-----

i plant my kisses
hope to cultivate your love...
reap the benefits

COFFEE AND KISSES, AND OTHER POEMS WRITTEN BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, APRIL 8, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

coffee and kisses
tangled sheets and tempting smiles...
morning wake up call

-----

passionate embrace
poetry amid kisses...
a tasting of words

-----

Life's about stories,
We are told, but I
Curious poet,
Think more about...
The blank pages
Broken dialogue
Undeveloped plots
Wisps of characters
We create, then...
Leave behind.

-----

i called you pretty
at first you didn't believe...
i taught you the truth

-----

so old school am i
touching the brim of my hat...
we silently pass

-----

such a shining light
your words and thoughts light my world...
illuminating!!!

-----

tell me you love me
burning words upon my soul...
branded for all time

-----

adrift in your tides
afloat on love's endless sea...
unending journey

-----

she is a princess
i knight in shining armor...
loving fantasy

-----

They were the blackberry days,
Barefoot on the hot beach,
Reaching into the wild
Burgeoning bushes for
The fattest blackberries,
Paying with scratches from
The protective thorns,
Fee for the bittersweet feast.

-----

Slamming wooden screen doors,
Buzzing of flies doomed to die inside,
Slowly swirling ceiling fans, BAC,
Before air conditioning,
When we sweated together,
Enduring the heat of summer,
Not missing air conditioned air,
We so seldom knew, but,
In the cool dark of movie theaters.
Where the good guys wore white hats
To be cool, I suppose.

-----

pearls around your neck
warmly attract my vision...
a lovely setting

FINGERS CARESS SKIN, AND OTHER POEMS WRITTEN APRIL 7, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

fingers caress skin
most arousing sensation...
i ache with desire

-----

show me no regrets
let pleasure overtake you...
it's what we're here for

-----

kisses like petals
gently touch me up and down...
and we both blossom

-----

naive innocence
queen of seductive powers...
secret sorceress

-----

the fragrance of you
i breathe in waves of passion...
arousal in the air

-----

her lust does not tarnish
arising from love's desire...
angelic human

-----

your softest whisper
reaches me from far away...
moon our messenger

-----

color fills her cheeks
her breast rises fast and full...
irresistible

SO LIKE THE OCEAN, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, WRITTEN MARCH 17, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

so like the ocean
dangerously beautiful
often wet and wild

-----

shells upon the shore
dropped from a mermaid's necklace
waves shyly retrieve

-----

i saw the white cliffs
same as caesar so long ago
a gleaming challenge

-----

saw what caesar saw
same white cliffs we veiwed with awe
centuries apart

-----

Something about the surf in moonlight.
It takes on an otherworldly aspect,
Becoming something different
From it's daytime liquidity,
With a slow motion roll
As if of molten metal
Singing a song once
Taught to whales
And, poets with
Such romantic
Imaginations.

-----

in the ocean waves
grains of sand roll too and fro
whispering stories

-----

Philosophers and poets,
Have watched the rolling sea
Listened to its constant roar,
Speculated and lifted pen
Contemplating fore daring
To set down their intense
And weighty speculations,
In dark and gloomy dens,
As lovers wandered down
To dip their feet in water's edge
Exchanging kisses and dreams,
Knowing more about the sea,
Than their somber predecessors.

-----

all the words i write
just the tip of the iceberg
best is unwritten

-----

i write about you
though the story's about me
let's plot together

-----

all the joys of life
mean little if lived alone
sharing is the key

-----

begin with kisses
then share the flavors of love
all the sweet goodness

-----

name written on sand
waves may erase in moments
on my heart... forever

-----

come fiery woman
let us have one dance tonight
never forgotten

SLOWLY ROSE THE MOON, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN WRITTEN MARCH 5, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

slowly rose the moon
illuminated my love
waiting my embrace

-----

bright in the moonlight
her naked body aglow
she waits for her love

-----

with one fleeting touch
i could write love passages
to leave you breathless

-----

drop your last clothing
stroll seductively to me
blow out the candle

-----

speak our fantasies
in ways i can understand
poems on your lips

-----

a birthday party
cake and ice cream us naked
wearing funny hats

-----

call the world beauty
for that is its natural state
if you've eyes to see

-----

my impatient heart
longs for you while we're apart
writes words on the wind

-----

your warmth in my arms
body tight pressed to body
intimate kisses

-----

my eyes touch her all
caressing in their passing
seeing what's not shown

-----

restless knowing eyes
matron's mature breast pulses
on love's precipice

-----

water down her body
in wet curves pouring off her
arousing contours

HUMAN NOT ANGELS IN INTENSE ECSTASY, AND OTHER POETRY BY DONOVAN BALDWIN FEBRUARY 20, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

human not angels
in intimate ecstasy
rapt within our wings

-----

breathing poetry
love lyrics from mouth to mouth
disguised as kisses

-----

the sweetest spices
dripping from your lips to mine
savory response

-----

no shy kisses please
share with enthusiasm
passionate lip locks

-----

upon cotton sheets
witnessed by a voyeur moon
zealous coitus

-----

watching pleases me
when you rise arched in passion
finish in my arms

-----

hands bound eyes covered
waiting for a sound a touch
breathless excitement

-----

you're more than a dream
shining in naked beauty
translucent desires

MAY I DRAW YOU WITH KISSES, AND OTHER POETRY BY DONOVAN BALDWIN WRITTEN FEBRUARY 19, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

May I draw you with kisses?
Trace the dear warm flesh
Touch all the secret places
Which long so heatedly
To be exposed to love,
To be gazed upon,
Caressed,
To be warmed by breath,
Tasted and savored,
Treasured and desired,
Recognized as whole,
The finest work of art?

-----

my tongue inscribes words
love runes on quivering skin
carnal denouement

-----

a fantasy man
constructed from words and dreams
of someone he was

-----

i'm not only words
but experiences too
from which my words grow

-----

sunlight upon leaves
rustling of the mind's passage
fingers turn pages

-----

here's mother nature
captured in words and pictures
in my library

-----

sun draws its shade
moon ignites its silver globe
a romantic night

-----

giving up, i turned
stepping into a darkness
you suddenly lit

-----

skin prickles with heat
rising in expectation
straining eagerly

-----

her taut tipped bosom
breast rhythmically rising
neath my caresses

TWO DISTANT LOVERS, AND OTHER POEMS WRITTEN BY DONOVAN BALDWIN JANUARY 28, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

two distant lovers
crave blistering caresses
and soothing kisses

only touch with words
seeking within messages
the passion they desire

share bold fantasies
secret moments in each night
they must love alone

-----

i flute play you lute
fingering ecstatic chords
as you blow love's notes

-----

lovers intertwined
sensuous penetration
pressing approval

-----

it's no sacrifice
all i have i give freely
for what you give me

-----

heated bodies glow
sweat of their desire reflects
fires burning within

-----

passionate heartbeats
keeping time with the bed springs
then sudden silence

-----

she hides in her room
no one may see these secrets
but her absent love

----

kisses full of words
hands not still she loves with all
body a caress

PASSION IS NORMAL, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, WRITTEN JANUARY 27, 2020

BY Donovan Baldwin

passion is normal
why deny yourself pleasure
more intense when shared

-----

tulips and roses
orchids and azaleas
pale before your bloom

-----

make no promises
words wander off in the wind
place love in my hands

-----

flicking of your tongue
impish smile behind the peach
juice drips down your chin

-----

no perfect body
yet a soul that matches mine
just so perfectly

-----

panting grasping lips
tongues in breathless game of tag
stirring love's cocktail

-----

you rise over me
transcendent smile of pleasure
as ecstasy comes

-----

psyche viewed eros
loved her lover more in light
yet nearly lost love

-----

her soft rose buds swell
awakened by lover's touch
and gentle kisses

-----

reach to me your hand
hold mine on this moonlit path
where we lovers stroll

-----

It was in the 30's,
I was told as a boy,
A barge ran aground
In a storm.
I swam there,
Snorkeled,
The sand was black
And spongy from the oil,
Twenty years later.
Huge cables appeared and
Disappeared with
Tide and storm,
Arising before my mask,
Ghostly figure from the past.

-----

caressing your curves
the story of the woman
quietly seduced

-----

our bold nakedness
the courage to bare ourselves
for love must know all

-----

Words, those damned elusive things,
Never there when you need them.
The secret is to sneak up on them,
Begin using them without permission.
They, after all, are your creatures,
Bound to do your bidding,
Without question or objection,
So, make them understand,
You will use them as you will,
Even when they're not ready to play.

-----

I, my own Prometheus,
Torn by my own demons,
Harpies, devils, carrion birds,
Uncertainty and fate,
Tearing at my breast,
Ripping out the heart
That once beat for adventure,
Travel, and investigation,
Of the lovely little corners,
Of mortals, to whom
I sought to give fire.

-----

i write my desires
fingers on your tender skin
aflame with your heat

-----

yes i say i lust
love and lust so very close
each feeds the other

-----

body my temple
adoration all aspects
love the highest form

If I Could Create True Poetry... And Other Poems By Donovan Baldwin... Written January 15, 2020

BY Donovan Baldwin

If I could create true poetry,
Wordless it would have to be,
Thoughts only possible within
This old poet's heart and mind,
Memories, experiences, wishes,
Beyond the bounds of language,
Which can never be found as marks
Upon pages which pass away with time.

-----

touch with lustful hands
embrace with demanding arms
kiss with fevered lips

-----

warm my mouth with yours
stain my lips with your kisses
color of nectar

-----

welcoming mistress
swelling bosom of the sea
ocean memory

-----

what finer pillow
than my dear love's own soft breast
where i rest my heart

-----

sing your song once more
the soft sweet one that won me
when first i heard it

POEMS, COMMENTS, AND HAIKU BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, SEPTEMBER 26, 2019

Blue jays and mockingbirds
Bright red cardinals
Birdsong and sunshine,
The memories of boyhood,
The wild wind in the trees,
Up from the bay, where
The surf rolled and beat
Upon the shore near enough
To be a part of a boy's life
And the memory of the man.

-----

kisses start my day
her warm morning sweetness
marmalade on toast

-----

you are a goddess
my idol of happiness
altar of pleasure

-----

soft against your skin
those warm words upon my breath
become caresses

-----

garden of embrace
flower of welcome desires
fruit of our passion

-----

my mind's subtlety
it weaves thought and word into
images of you

-----

when you're making love
physical sex isn't all
make it personal

-----

my fingers like lace
barely touching revealing
the beauty of you

-----

my words as fabric
so sheer and diaphanous
you are seen through them

POEMS, COMMENTS, AND HAIKU BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, SEPTEMBER 19, 2019

in your honeyed realm
entranced by dripping petals
thirsting for your love

-----

your mouth unwraps me
sweet words strip my concealment
lover left naked

-----

When words begin to come
They are driven by the winds
Blowing from some secret land
An island by the sea where
Lovers, we, walk hand in hand
Appraising sunsets, and,
The sand beneath our feet,
Stopping to exchange kisses
And caresses in the warm surf
At the edge of our own world.

-----

your lips to my lips
your soft sweet nectar soothing
insatiable thirst

-----

tantalizing tongue
offers more than poetry
at touching moments

Haiku by Donovan Baldwin

Boy beneath the sun.
Hot sand, strong waves, distant lands,
Adventure's desires.

-----

You're a tale in Braille,
A story to read by touch,
Any time, day or night.

-----

Soft nights by the bay,
Waves lapping beneath the stars
Romance in the air.

-----

Once there was a kiss,
Which I still remember well,
'Neath stars, by the sea.

-----

Rigidity rules,
In some situations,
Smile off your face, please.

-----

Sex and love not new.
Old people did it when young,
Young people will learn.

-----

Hot fire glows within,
Heating our lover's embrace,
Woman in my arms.

-----
Her quiet moment,
Old erotic memories,
Sighs, moans, sweet repose.

-----

When my soul turns cold,
Kisses no longer revive,
Hold my memory.

-----

Arms around your waist,
Chest to back, kissing your neck,
Whispering soft words.

-----

Stars in your night sky,
Each a message I sent you,
Read yourself to sleep.

-----

Drift upon the tide,
Or ride passionate storm waves?
You can float later.

-----

Body? What's body?
Storage capsule for spirit.
Love spirit, not flesh.

-----

I want to claim you.
Have you completely my own,
But you must agree.
