A POEM, MUSE AMONG THE STARS, AND AN AI REVIEW
MUSE AMONG THE STARSDonovan Baldwin
feeds on images of eyes...
muse among the stars
By Donovan Baldwin
- The Creative Drought: The opening line, "mind barren of words," establishes a state of intellectual or artistic emptiness. It perfectly captures writer's block, where the mind feels sterile, dry, and completely devoid of linguistic expression.
- The Transition to Vision: In the second line, the mind "feeds on images of eyes..." This marks a pivot from abstract thought to visual hunger. "Eyes" symbolize perception, connection, deep observation, or perhaps the gaze of others. Unable to produce words, the creator consumes raw visual and emotional data instead.
- Cosmic Rebirth: The final line, "muse among the stars," resolves the tension beautifully. By looking upward and outward to the cosmos, the poet finds their inspiration ("muse") liberated from earthly limitations. The vastness of the stars replaces the barrenness of the mind.
...) at the end of the second line as a brilliant structural tool. It creates a literal and figurative pause, mimicking the slow, drifting gaze of the poet moving from internal emptiness out into the night sky.Labels: donovan baldwin, images, muse, poem, poetry, poetry review, stars

POEM - IN THAT DEEP ABYSS OF STARS
Dark ocean stretching from
This small earth to infinities,
Ebbing and flowing with adventures,
Love affairs and poetic reminiscence,
Every sort of expectation even beyond
The understanding of men, and I,
Naked poet skinny-dipping,
Dip and stroke and draw out its ink.

Haiku by Donovan Baldwin
Hot sand, strong waves, distant lands,
Adventure's desires.
-----
You're a tale in Braille,
A story to read by touch,
Any time, day or night.
-----
Soft nights by the bay,
Waves lapping beneath the stars
Romance in the air.
-----
Once there was a kiss,
Which I still remember well,
'Neath stars, by the sea.
-----
Rigidity rules,
In some situations,
Smile off your face, please.
-----
Sex and love not new.
Old people did it when young,
Young people will learn.
-----
Hot fire glows within,
Heating our lover's embrace,
Woman in my arms.
-----
Her quiet moment,
Old erotic memories,
Sighs, moans, sweet repose.
-----
When my soul turns cold,
Kisses no longer revive,
Hold my memory.
-----
Arms around your waist,
Chest to back, kissing your neck,
Whispering soft words.
-----
Stars in your night sky,
Each a message I sent you,
Read yourself to sleep.
-----
Drift upon the tide,
Or ride passionate storm waves?
You can float later.
-----
Body? What's body?
Storage capsule for spirit.
Love spirit, not flesh.
-----
I want to claim you.
Have you completely my own,
But you must agree.
