HER MOST LOVING KISS, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN WRITTEN JUNE 3, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

her most loving kiss
lips swollen with her desire...
i savor the taste

-----

she tends her flower
garden hidden from my gaze...
watching me watch her

-----

How long have we
And flowers lived together,
They surviving, despite
The destructive nature
Of we sometimes
Abstruse animals,
Who often fail to
Realize how much
Quiet blossoms
Have given us in
Love and beauty.

-----

raising no alarm
sun makes quiet announcement...
first news of the day

-----

my love's greedy buds
demanding my attention...
i treat tenderly

-----

lovers drunk at dusk
sipping deeply from love's cups...
insatiable thirst

-----

Once in Holland,
I saw a mill,
Arms waving,
Blessing,
All who passed,
Present, past,
And future,
Even Quixote,
Whom it forgave,
For his mistake and
Violent attack,
Misunderstanding
In his madness
The benevolent
Gestures as
Belligerence.

-----

i entreat flowers
share with me the mystery...
make me nature's child

-----

The morning sunrise
Enlivened by the
Song of an errant bird,
Colored by golden clouds,
The brightest greens of
Grass and trees,
And flowers...
The wild ones,
Growing willy nilly,
Coloring the canvas
Even more that I
Hang happily in
Each day's museum
Of my mind.

-----

My voyages of discovery,
My trips into strange lands,
In seek of knowledge
And wisdom, where I
Gather all information,
Experience,
And thinking thereon,
Arrive at one major
Conclusion, that I,
Grand adventurer
Seeker of truth
And beauty, truly,
Am seeking,
Discovering myself.

STROKING THE PETALS, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, WRITTEN FEBRUARY 17, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

stroking the petals
seeking the flower's last song
rapt in its rhythm

-----

fingers play within
caressing blushing petals
solo crescendo

-----

morning caresses
sleepy purrings of pleasure
becoming deep growls

-----

she averts her eyes
ladylike in demeanor
smiles sneaking a peek

-----

hide not true feelings
a real lady may display
honorable lust

-----

caressing ribbons
she neath my words thoughts gazes
hidden and then seen

-----

Don't seek hidden meanings
In what I write.
Oh, they're there, but,
They are my meanings,
Blended in from
My life experiences,
My pains,
My pleasures,
My beliefs,
Truisms
And fallacies.
But, you cannot know that all,
Nor see with my eyes.
See with your own,
And find your own truths.

-----

i sing for today
yesterday's songs are over
tomorrow's not born

-----

we watch the bright moon
it's in its place we in ours
apart in her light

-----

you are in my heart
free to stay and free to leave
never really gone

-----

you are poetry
words and rhythms within me
origin and end

-----

my colorful words
woven within errant thoughts
written tapestry

-----

take in what i can
keep some lose some give up some
my eclectic art

-----

in my solitude
i searched within for beauty
found it around me

-----

Bare feet on hot white sand,
The offshore wind
A constant song in my ears,
The sun warming me
From head to toe,
The waters of the bay
Whispering over and over,
The same story
That oceans tell
To boys all about the world
On the edge of all their oceans.

POEMS AND HAIKU WRITTEN BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, JANUARY 14, 2020

The naked flower
Blushes not at
Its being bare,
For that is a
Sharing of its
Beauty,
The purpose
It was created for.
It blushes at
The happy joy
And ardent love
Upon the face
Of the gardener,
Who loves it
So intently.

-----

cannot help sadness
it's a part of who i am
wait for it to pass

-----

and still it flows this
stream of time and memory
which hides the future

-----

pounded by the surf
awash in sensual tides
open ecstasy

-----

Perhaps the sky has made me gray today
Painted me with today's dawn colors
Of mist and smoke, left me wanting
The true rising of the sun,
My favored glows and growing
Pinks and purples and burning golds,
Which give way to bright blue skies
And a few floating clouds for accent.

-----

i'm walking talking
scattering my ideas
in all directions

-----

see with my glad eyes
the vision you are to me
and smile as you do

-----

voices pass away
into old realities
born new memories

-----

kiss me till i tire
whenever that may occur
in some distant age

POEM: I HEAR THE EARTH SONGS

By Donovan Baldwin

I hear the earth songs,
The voices on the wind,
Singing of the trees,
Words made of
The sounds of coyote,
Bird, and bee,
I see the art of nature,
Paintings in green
And gold and blue,
Royal scarlet,
Colors beyond my palette,
To describe
Common
In the rising
And setting of the sun,
The perfectly hewn
Statue of a flower,
A rabbit,
One tiny blackberry,
In colors and textures,
Which can be touched,
And breathed,
And tasted,
And remembered
Forever...
Something no human
Artist nor poet can achieve.
