IN THE GRAVEYARD OF ST. LAWRENCE, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN WRITTEN APRIL 3, 2020
In the graveyard of St. Lawrence
Church on Parrot Lane,
Cholesbury, England,
Lay resting
Ancient relatives of mine, cousins,
Exponentially removed by
Space and time from this
20th century Florida lad,
They, loyal (methinks) subjects of
Good Queen Bess, Elizabeth No. 1,
Unaware of our distant relativity,
And what their seed begot.
-----
paint her in colors
bright and gay and sad and gray...
love her any way
-----
reality spurs
ideas ephemeral...
like smoke hard to hold
-----
nearer than my skin
your arms and heart draw me tight...
as two becomes one
-----
sharing our pleasures
grown out of our strong desires...
blissful enjoyment
-----
we dine with red wine
exhilarated embrace...
drunk on each other
-----
her moonlit body
my fingers liquid silver...
erotic drawings
-----
she steps proudly forth
from her sheltering clothing...
determination
-----
lovers on the screen
offer little distraction
from our performance
-----
two lovely warm moons
glowing silver in the night...
my fantasy world
-----
hothouse rose blushes
observed it rises open...
awaits attention
-----
let's converse naked
make shameful revelations...
then make love again
-----
twenty-five percent
no real chance of rain today...
why is the street wet?

POEMS, COMMENTS, AND HAIKU BY DONOVAN BALDWIN, SEPTEMBER 18, 2019
blushing in silver array
her desire aflame
-----
wide open we are
no shame or embarrassment
for we share it all
-----
sweet marmalade lips
smiling openly offer
her morning kisses
-----
curving in moonbeams
gleaming silver her body
goddess and lover
-----
lead me to your edge
igniting desires until
i burst with my need
-----
quivering body
parted lips wordless murmurs
moment of climax
-----
the taste of moonlight
spilling from silken petals
to my eager mouth
-----
love's gates open wide
secret succulent garden
where goddess feeds me
-----
lovers tied up tight
bound in ardent positions
prepare for release
-----
slip into my love
gliding over your body
in constant caress
-----
words scrawled in passion
meaningless til heard and felt
even more... believed
-----

POEM: DANCE FOR ME, SALOME
By Donovan Baldwin
Dance for me, Salome,
Move in that fabled way
As you once did for Herod,
Demanding all he had to offer,
For your reward.
As you did him,
Make me insane with lust and want,
Push me to the place,
Where all else fades,
But you...
And nothing matters,
But my dark desire for you...
Woman...
Who can rule my heart,
Capturing its beat,
Within the movements of her body,
Stirring it with,
Designs drawn with hands and arms and legs...
Illuminated by
The dark lightning of her eyes.
Define my existence,
With just a look, a word,
A move.
Dance that sinful way for me,
Show me the steps which lead
To Heaven,
Or to Hell...
Just one time.
Dance for me that way...
Salome.
