POEM: WERE I HERCULES, BY DONOVAN BALDWIN
Were I Hercules,
Old tired demigod,
Strong enough to dare,
I would defy the gods,
Offer you my protection,
The strength of my soul,
Might of my arm,
Forever...
Guarding and guiding,
You,
Sacred woman,
Most treasured of all,
Who offered yourself to me.
I do so dare,
Eternally.
Old tired demigod,
Strong enough to dare,
I would defy the gods,
Offer you my protection,
The strength of my soul,
Might of my arm,
Forever...
Guarding and guiding,
You,
Sacred woman,
Most treasured of all,
Who offered yourself to me.
I do so dare,
Eternally.
