TWICE BLUSHING FLOWER, AND OTHER SHORT POEMS, MARCH 28, 2023

By Donovan Baldwin

twice blushing flower first blush at touch of his words... second her own thoughts

----- time to taste your love soft love spilled on you from me... becomes part of us ----- alone in darkness i play scenes over again... we have not yet lived ----- reaches out for her when the storm breaks over him... her love's safe haven ----- a specific heart not one simple type to find... laying on love's shore ----- with the rise of dawn life and i awaken to... daylight dreams of you ----- feels she's not worthy not aware that he treasures her... just the way she is ----- he whispers nothings sets them free on summer breeze... in hopes she will hear ---- a lifelong battle carried so many secrets... burdens of others ----- not bound to earth nightly we visit the moon... to be together ----- riding wild currents as we swim in love's river... caught in its rapids ----- shame on her some say she doesn't feel she does wrong... her lover agrees ----- i once rode the storms playfully defied wild winds... now but memories ----- light begins to dim old dark memories return... with sad loneliness -----

THE NUDES OF RENOIR, AND OTHER POEMS BY DONOVAN BALDWIN WRITTEN FEBRUARY 21, 2020

By Donovan Baldwin

the nudes of renoir
tangible impressionism
body and senses

-----

quivering with want
awaiting satisfaction
anticipation

-----

undulating need
dance to a lusty refrain
only she can hear

-----

alone in her lust
desiring hot caresses
what's a girl to do

-----

glistening body
tastes of salt and her desire
as i drink her love

-----

gliding cross your skin
fingertips arousing me
as they arouse you

-----

flowing through my veins
the drug which you feed to me
within your kisses

-----

touch the bloom's middle
it opens in surrender
yields up its honey

-----

saved one precious rose
placed it on a shelf somewhere
reminds me of you

-----

let my touches move
through your shy secret garden
of blushing petals

-----

do you know my world
of flowers and sunrises
and thoughts about you

-----

carved from pure marble
lightly clad nymph emerges...
seeking a lover

-----
