DON'T DESTROY THEIR TEMPLE, BOY - A POEM BY DONOVAN BALDWIN
Don't destroy their temple, boy,
Don't defile their creed.
Like you, they know what heartache is,
And, if they're cut they'll bleed.
They're just like you and me inside,
They've got a word for love,
They built that "heathen" temple
For someone like your god above.
They'll fight to save their daughters
From a devil such as you,
They don't live by rules you know,
But, they know what they must do.
If you want to win their hearts
And safely homeward go,
Act with honor and remember,
All the things that you don't know.
