ALL HER BUTTERFLIES, AND OTHER SHORT POEMS, MARCH 29, 2023
all her butterflies
stilled their wings beneath his touch...
and blossomed for him
-----
speaking smiles and tears
her feelings come pouring out...
turns ash to embers
-----
poet wakens to
random strokes of red and gold...
dawn's sky becomes words
-----
when i'm in my dark
she's the fire and flame i seek...
sunrise to my night
-----
lone blossom unfolds
as silent poet watches...
becomes a poem
-----
ordinary things
extraordinary things...
when we're together
-----
sweet and gentle smile
touching me with love's starlight...
gleaming messages
-----
taught her to love him
learned she's lived without laughter...
that's his next challenge
-----
fears to acknowledge
words she reads so eagerly...
which touch her inside
-----
exchanging verses
in verbalistic foreplay...
making poetry
-----
what i would permit
that which you need to explore...
help you find yourself
neither blessing nor curse
merely a true act of love...
which does not bind you
and though others might
you and i won't call it sin...
simply name it love
-----
lascivious lass
reading ribald risqué rhymes...
secretly sighing
-----
fingers trace her lips
seeking her moist poetry...
words he wants to taste
-----
her desire's bow bent
she nocks her tiny arrow...
pleasure's dart shot free
-----

BENEATH OLD ASHES, AND OTHER POEMS
beneath old ashes
a single ember ignites...
she fans into flames
-----
sweet infectious smile
soft eyes aglow with kindness...
words create desire
-----
the secrets she shares
once done only in private...
now part of their love
-----
ebon and silver
light and dark hills and hollows...
hidden and revealed
-----
intimate embrace
sharing intense sensations...
beyond our bodies
-----
wicked wet kisses
and intimate embraces...
delicious delights
-----
from dawn's unveiling
daring mother nature in...
her naked beauty
-----
dark petals folded
her garden's single flower...
opens at his touch
-----
beach too far away
fifty years or more ago...
when i was a boy
-----
innocence staggered
by storms of her emotions...
gales of wild desires
----
beneath the blanket
we read each other by touch...
re-read the best parts
-----
two lovers sharing
sunset's orgy of colors...
though a world apart

UPON YOUR SOFT LIPS, AND OTHER POEMS
upon your soft lips
fingertips write poetry...
with punctuation
-----
her flower blossoms
in a field of dark desires...
nutured by his love
-----
beneath silent skies
here and there a lonely star...
lost lovers wander
------
road of love and life
who knows what's beyond the curve...
perhaps journey's start
-----
brief intimate touch
unplanned a passing gesture...
can convey so much
-----
within liquid dreams
her body floats with pleasure...
after storm's passage
-----
ribbon loose falling
she stands her body revealed...
her present to him
-----
simply touch my cheek
look at me as if i'm yours...
hold me a moment
-----
each word a new touch
finding its way inside her...
caressing her soul
-----
true meaningful loves
impose impossible tasks...
such as being free
-----
this old gray flower
turns and faces sun again...
blossoms one more day
-----
oh the sensations
love's first kisses and touches...
indescribable
-----
bee led to a flower...
offered sweet nectar
can't refuse a sip
-----
fingers reading you
darkness does not hinder me...
nor hide your whispers
----
she's vibrant colors
sunrise sunset hues of flame...
i am moon's silver
-----
her secret garden
where she laughs with butterflies...
touched by tender wings
-----
such a sinful saint
angel who long lost his wings...
but kept his honor
-----
and without warning
dark clouds begin their descent...
take over my mind
-----

I'D LOVE TO PAINT YOU, AND OTHER POEMS
treasured possession
sometimes fragile as crystal...
her genuine love
-----
someone once hurt her
betrayed the trust she offered...
he must win it back
-----
it was never fair
he asked the impossible...
made he feel she failed
-----
together daring
excursions into fantasy...
immoral support
-----
wonders at his touch
odd to see so many scars...
on such tender hands
-----
comes into the room
with no words brings him pleasure...
shares the love they shared
-----
after sharing love
trembling with the memories...
mutual repose
-----
rain pounds our bodies
lovers' heartbeats thundering...
within our own storm
-----
with him at her side
among dangerous desires...
she explores herself
-----
touch i've yet to feel
kiss i want to remember...
a coming embrace
-----
i'd love to paint you
an image instead of words...
to keep by my side
-----
a lovely flower
wild blossom in rumpled sheets...
in our private bed

WHAT MAKES POETRY AND OTHER POEMS
what makes poetry
long ago kiss an embrace...
set down into words
-----
tears upon petals
desire's glistening diamonds...
coaxed forth by kisses
-----
crumbling old relic
ancient beyond salvation...
restored by her love
-----
sinful wine we share
a magnificent vintage...
spilling from our mouths
-----
best shirt plaid flannel
coffee cup that's cracked and stained...
the world is my domain
-----
slow dance to old songs
touching ways that lovers do...
on mind and body
-----
reading his strange words
which reach inside and touch her...
ways that make her smile
-----
in your eyes i see
burning desires of your soul...
dancing flames you hide
-----
bound by webs of words
quivers as they touch her soul...
crying out with joy
-----
how can this be real
ecstasy cannot be touched...
touches so deeply
-----
soft waves barely seen
leave phosphorescent kisses...
on sand's moonglow lips
-----
at our moon's command
for a moment stars are still...
so we remember
-----
struggles against pain
fighting each day's new battles...
warrior princess
-----
writing poetry
often i can but echo...
the words which chose me
-----
in search of pleasure
she immerses herself in...
pools of poetry
-----
how it excites her
the moment he moans her name...
when she's all he feels
-----
understood by her
is a greatest gift to me...
she understands love
-----
she shared her secrets
surprised how many matched mine...
she's such a good girl
-----
can't conquer her soul
must wait until she's ready...
reveals it herself
-----
sometimes animal
she comes and unlocks my cage...
running free with me
-----

BLOSSOM ON THE SHORE AND OTHER SMALL POEMS
blossom on the shore
a tropical wildflower...
darkly beautiful
-----
heed the summer breeze
learn of her ancient wisdom...
as she speaks of love
-----
fingers in petals
turning each pastel page...
seductive story
-----
lovers keeping time
her sighs echo the minutes...
with strokes at midnight
-----
looks into her eyes
sees her desires with his soul...
her beautiful needs
-----
i thought you loved me
which meant that you trusted me...
i guess i was wrong
-----
likes the tame poems
cut from my herd of wild ones...
she reads silently
-----
taste the words i write
dripping warm honeyed nectar...
written about you
-----
lovely word cuddle
evoking warmth and pleasure...
intimate repose
-----
blushing not with shame
but with heat of secret fires...
she fears to reveal
-----
gods forgot my name
wiped it from their memories...
yet recall my words
-----
wonder where i failed
what old gods did i offend...
that they deny me
-----
won't say what she does
with the oil book and candles...
yet she smiles after
-----
