Life Involves Action

 By Donovan Baldwin

Life involves action. Our bodies are designed to move, not to sit or lie down for long periods.
While years of research shows that there are many health benefits of exercise, there is a lot of discussion about how much of it to do, when to do it, how to do it, etc.
One thing overlooked in all these discussions, are that most of us simply spend too much of our time sitting...at desks, at computers, in front of the TV. Almost everything we do in our modern society can be done sitting down...except for those times we choose to stand up and get moving.
I have seen other studies which seem to indicate that doing as little as standing up and stretching once an hour can help counteract many of the negative aspects of sitting too long.
However, simply getting out of the chair is not really "exercise" that improves your body. Mainly, it just counteracts many of the negative results of too much time spent sitting.
