Article Writing Guide - Traffic Generation For Small Business Owners on a Shoe String Budget

As a small business owner, every single cent counts. That is why it's important to focus on cost effective marketing solutions. If you are spending money on advertising but your investment is not generating a positive return, it's very easy to run into cash flow problems. Article marketing can be a highly cost effective solution. Here is a guide on how to get started with article writing.
Step 1: Pick just one top article directory and register for an account. Don't spend time trying to come up with a list of article directories... at least not yet. It's important that you get started right away with just one article directory. You can publish your content on other sites later if you want. The goal is to get a good feel of how article marketing works.
Step 2: Pick a topic that you are already familiar with and start writing. You first few articles may be rejected as you may not be familiar with the editorial guidelines. But that's alright as long as you are learning and picking up the lessons. Start with topics that you are familiar with so that you don't have to spend time researching for information. You should be able to complete the article within 30 minutes. If you are taking more than 30 minutes to write just one article, you are taking too much time.
Step 3: Remember to include links! At the end of the article, I sometime see new writers forgetting to include clickable links. Links will lead to clicks, and it's clicks you are looking for. Every article you submit has the potential to generate hundreds (even thousands) of clicks. How much did you spend on writing the article? You spent nothing except for a few precious minutes of your time.
