BENEATH MOON'S PALE, PEARLESCENT GAZE - A POEM BY DONOVAN BALDWIN
Beneath moon's pale, pearlescent gaze,
The ocean sighs in whispered praise.
Its waves, like lips, caress the shore,
In silent dance they've done before.
With each wave, a tender touch,
Wets thirsty sand it loves so much.
The moonbeams dance like silver rain,
On on lover's skin, where passion's lain.
And here stand I, sad lonely soul,
Yearning for words to make me whole.
Kiss the moon for me, dear ocean vast,
That its soft light heals my heart at last.
Whisper my name to midnight's breeze,
In moonlit waves, my secrets tease
Take love from me on currents strong,
To the warm lips where I belong.
So shall the moon, with gentle grace,
Touch your lips, kiss in my place.
Return my kiss upon the tide,
And in that way, let love reside.
